Even more details...

I will give some pre-course homework. Basically, download and learn some map programs, get comfortable with the program interfaces of what we will use. I will provide pre course material that gives you a tick list of sites to visit and easy, user friendly brief tutorials to introduce a few topics and websites for us all to be familiar with before the course on weather, avalanche, maps, trip planning and programs. When we meet, we will make sure everyone is on the same page and will wokr through actual trip plans and navigation plans and researching places to shred and making it happen. Folks will go home and make some plans for a zone we think will be good based on weather. We will meet in the morning, review weather and snow conditions and then implement our plan with trying to find some tricky lines and making them work with our tools and plans. Field time can also be spent reviewing whatever folks need and some tips and tricks to help out with everything backcountry.
