Conditions photos from a September 18th 2025 flight around the Duffey Lake Road courtesy of Coast Range Heliskiing.
Generally, glaciers have lost mass overall. Several steeper areas have had significant rockfall events (Twin One, Anniversary Glacier, Cayoosh North Glacier). Recession around high cols will make for trickier entrances to lines. Several major ice faces appear to have very little remaining ice (Owls, Duke, Twin One Couloirs). While some of the traditional crevasse/bergshrund areas are a little less stressful from a slot perspective, there’s still some significant ones on the big glaciers. Use these photos to strategize for the upcoming season!
